How to Get The Best From the People You Work With

A workshop led by Emma Brookes, a People Director at Sky

In order to be able to deliver your best work, it’s crucial to understand how you can get the best from the people you work with, whether that be the team you manage, the peers you work closely with or the stakeholders or clients you face into.  The people you work with on a day-to-day basis will likely have different perspectives, motivations, working styles etc.  In this session, Emma taught us practical tips and tools to utilise when trying to get the best out of the people you work with, focusing on the following key areas;

-          The diversity of working styles and preferences; how to be aware of your own working style and how to flex when working with others

-          How to lean in to challenging conversations; how to prepare yourself for the conversation and ways to overcome possible reactions during the conversation

-          The impact feedback can have on performance and best practice tactics to prepare for and deliver great feedback

-          The value of coaching, when to use it and the key behaviours to make a performance coaching conversation effective
